Agency Updates

The Uniting Church acknowledges the important work of other agencies and churches in responding to the bushfire disaster. We have extensive networks of congregations, ministers and UnitingCare agencies active in the affected areas supported by the whole church.Whilst providing some immediate relief, our most significant contribution is beyond the immediate disaster response. Our diverse range of services provided by congregations, ministers and UnitingCare agencies seek to complement the efforts of others working with people as they rebuild their homes, their lives and their communities in the months and years to come.

UnitingCare, the community services agencies of the Uniting Church in Australia, is one of the largest providers in the state of community services with a diverse range of dedicated experienced staff.Whilst providing some immediate relief, our most significant role and contribution will be in the second phase of the Victorian emergency recovery plan. In other words we will be supporting people for the long haul as they recover and will be assisting them to rebuild their homes, their lives and their communities in the months and years to come.
