Antony McMullen

Social Justice Officer

Antony is originally from Narrandera in Western NSW. He has been involved in social justice campaigns since he was elected President of the Swinburne Student Union and Chairperson of the Victorian TAFE Students and Apprentices Network in the late 1990s. Since then he has worked in various capacities in the community and student union sectors in predominantly community development, casework and coordinator roles.

Antony is Catholic and brings an ecumenical focus to his position. He is enrolled in the Bachelor of Theology at the United Faculty of Theology (Melbourne College of Divinity) where he is developing his current theological interests in patristics and the early church. He has completed previous study in the areas of community development and community services management. Antony is married and has two children. His personal interests include music and politics.

The current foci for the position are:


Child Labour

  • Better conditions for young workers 15-17

  • Tasmanian Child labour laws

Christian persecution

Fair Trade and Investment:

  • Ethical manufacture of Christian goods – www.justholyhardware.org.au

  • Supporting Fairtrade and other initiatives to make trade fair

  • Assisting the monitoring of Synod of Victoria & Tasmania investments

  • Campaigning for the International Labour Organisation Convention on Home Work
