DESCRIPTION:A Climate of Change: Tomorrow’s Moral Imperative Today\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUniting Church members have understood that preserving creation for future generations is an essential part of their faith. The Justice and International Mission Conference this year takes stock of where the Uniting Church can continue to make a difference on how Australia impacts on environmental issues\, including climate change. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the world discovers climate change as a moral prerogative that cannot be delayed\, younger generations are taking to the streets\, as we’ve seen with the school-strike movement\, to stand for what they believe in. With climate change becoming widely recognised as today’s moral imperative\, we become obliged to ask where we stand as individuals\, members of our community and global citizens? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow do we respond to the threats facing the natural environment as Christians?\nHow do we find hope in our faith to take what actions we can?\nHow do we empower our communities to face the threat of climate change?\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us and be part of the conversation to inform the future direction of the Uniting Church’s social justice mission as we unpack the urgency of climate change we are all facing. \nThis conference will examine a broad range of environmental concerns facing our planet\, including displacement of people as a result of climate change\, ecotheology\, electric vehicles\, illegal logging\, renewable energy\, ethical investments\, and Indigenous youth perspectives on climate change. \n\n\n\n\n\nCost: $40 for metropolitan participants\n$30 concession and non-metropolitan participants \n\n\n\n\n\nDownload brochure \nRegister online \n

DESCRIPTION:2nd Biennial History Conference  \nUniting Church National History Society \nWhat does it mean to belong to the Uniting Church? Many grew up Congregationalist\, Methodist or Presbyterian. Others have grown up in the Uniting Church. Some have only ever known the Uniting Church as their spiritual home and others have transferred in from other denominations.
