SUMMARY:Amplify (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Don’t just Save the Date! Rather\, highlight the date\, communicate the date and plan to participate! \n  \nPreviously known as Ignite and run in Queensland\, Amplify has for over a decade been Australia’s largest Children & Families ministry training event. In 2021\, though\, Amplify will be moving on-line – thus making accessibility for those of us in Victoria and Tasmania much easier – and including Youth and Serving Schools streams. More information on speakers\, electives and the overall process is coming soon. \n  \nIn the meantime\, please consider whether your church would be prepared to be a local Hub. The pricing structure has been set to encourage people to gather together (subject to Covid restrictions applicable at the time) to experience the content in their local context (eg. their church). With a price of $30 for an individual or $70 as an (unlimited) Local Hub registration\, this is a quite compelling opportunity. Contact chris.barnett@victas.uca.org.au to express your interest or find out more.

SUMMARY:**POSTPONED: The Northey Lectures - Liturgy and Lectionary: New Perspectives
DESCRIPTION:A day of Northey Lectures with two keynotes\, discussion and lunch \n  \n \nDr Tanya Riches  \nTanya Riches is Senior Lecturer and MTh program coordinator at Hillsong College in Sydney\, Australia. She is also a research fellow of the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public Understanding of Religion at the University of Birmingham. She has a PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary and is author Worship and Social Engagement in Urban Aboriginal-led Australian Pentecostal Congregations: (Re)Imagining Worship in the Spirit (2019)\, co-produced with urban Aboriginal-led Pentecostal Christian congregations\, and explores the worship and social justice initiatives. She has also authored several other articles and is currently working on a volume on urban Christian worship in Sydney. \n  \nLiturgy on the Move: Pentecostal\, Aboriginal\, and Secular Collisions \nThis talk explores interactions between Australian Pentecostalisms in their Indigenous\, Classical\, Fundamentalist\, Neoliberal\, and Ex-vangelical forms\, with implications for Christian witness and how this informs public conversations about faith. \n  \n  \n \nDr Jione Havea \nJione Havea is co-parent for a 7yo\, migrant to the unceded Wurundjeri lands and waters\, native pastor (Methodist Church in Tonga)\, and research fellow with Trinity Methodist Theological College (Aotearoa New Zealand) and with Centre for Public and Contextual Theology (Charles Sturt University\, Australia). Jione authored Losing Ground: Reading Ruth in the Pacific (SCM\, 2021) and edited Theologies from the Pacific (Palgrave\, 2021) and MEDIAting Theology (EVA\, 2021). \n  \nWorship in Native Motions \nThe RCL is a useful tool and discipline\, but it is limited and problematic. Dr Havea explores the way the RCL is a ‘doctrine of occupation’ in the way it perpetuates the Christian occupation of lands\, of faiths\, of minds\, of spirits. How might a theology of worship from the perspectives of indigenous peoples reframe our colonial approach? \n  \nVenue: Centre for Theology and Ministry\, 29 College Crescent\, Parkville \n  \nDate: 10.30am – 3pm on Friday 6th August 2021 \n  \n10.30am Welcome\, First keynote (Tanya Riches) and discussion \n12.30 – 1.30pm Lunch \n1.30 – 3pm Second Keynote (Jione Havea) and discussion \n  \nCost: The lectures are free.
