DESCRIPTION:Exploring Preaching in the UCA \nAn online course for anyone who wants to learn how to Preach in the UCA. \nExploring Preaching in the UCA has been created around the Preaching Competencies from the “Assembly Standards and Competencies for the Formation and Education for the Specified Ministry of Lay Preacher”. So\, those training for the ministry of Lay Preaching\, and those needing to undertake training for the Preaching Competencies for Pastors (as these are the same)\, can be assured they are receiving training to help them meet these competencies. \nHowever\, Exploring Preaching in the UCA is also a great course for: \n\npeople undertaking a Period of Discernment\nLay Preachers looking for some continuing education.\n\nExploring Preaching in the UCA covers: \n\nwhere preaching ‘fits’ in Worship\nethical preaching\npractical preaching skills\nexegesis\nplanning to preach\n\nExploring Preaching in the UCA is offered through access to online learning materials and a Zoom class. \nInternet not great at home? DESCRIPTION:The world has and is changing and we are seeking new ways of leadership and being in church\, including worship and proclaiming God’s Word. \n  \nJoin us for multiple options of engaging with 6 Worship Units and 6 Preaching Units. \n  \nParticipants can choose their level of input and connection. Have a conversation with your faith community\, congregation or Presbytery about what would would be good for you and them. \n  \nUnits are engaging and creative. DESCRIPTION:Preachers as Midwives of the Story \n  \nStory has its own way of bringing to life God’s work within community and ourselves. A story without words can speak deeper than a story with words. We don’t just observe or hear a story\, we are always receivers of story. And sometimes we are the storyteller. . . . .even when we are preaching. In this workshop\, participants are invited to come into story and possibility. \nDenise best describes herself as a Mother\, a Minister and a Photographer and sometimes all three at once. Drawing on deep listening to the world and creation\, sharing its story through images\, story\, and relationship\, Denise allows room for the other to find their point of connection with God. DESCRIPTION:Worship and Preaching training for Communities and Lay Leaders \n  \nThe world has and is changing and we are seeking new ways of leadership and being in church\, including worship and proclaiming God’s Word. \nJoin us for multiple options of engaging with 6 Worship Units and 6 Preaching Units. \nParticipants can choose their level of input and connection. Have a conversation with your faith community\, congregation or Presbytery about what would would be good for you and them. \nUnits are engaging and creative.
