Asian experiences celebrated

By Rev David Kim

Asian Network is a stream of the Faithful Futures Project: Intercultural Leadership.

It is a tapestry work of interweaving talents, commitments and hope among Asian second-generation people as it aims to value, share, and celebrate the unique multicultural, multilingual, and multigenerational life and faith experiences of Asian second-generations in the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.

Through worship, prayer and small group discussions, the Asian Network offers an inclusive and ecumenical worshipping gathering in local venues, including Caulfield Indonesian Uniting Church for Asian second-generation young people to worship, witness, and serve.

Given the limited representation of Asian second-generation people in ministry, the Asian Network collaborates with several Asian second-generation ministers, including Rev David Kim, Rev Robin Yang, Pastor Tracie Mulia, and Sarah Back, to pave a pathway for Asian second-generation leaders to discern their call into ministry.
