Genuine engagement
This month we wanted to highlight the fourth pillar in our Child Safe Policy: Genuine engagement.
Ensuring children, their families and the community are engaged when decisions are being made, and processes are being developed, is a key in this pillar.
Getting feedback and having genuine conversations with children and their families allows us to ensure they know they are heard, and their voices are important in our spaces.
This pillar also brings focus to diverse and culturally safe spaces.
This includes those with disabilities, those from the LGBTQIA+ community and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Having diverse spaces allows us to take full advantage of all the skills, knowledge and gifts God has given those in our community.
