At its Valedictory Service on Thursday, hosted by Wesley Church, the community of Pilgrim Theological College said farewell to 17 students who will complete their theological studies and ministerial formation at the end of 2024.
While the service marks an end to the students’ time at the college, it also marks the beginning of the next stage in their ministry and leadership within and beyond the church.
Preaching from Genesis 32, Moderator-elect Rev Salesi Faupula told students “when you pour yourself out in serving others, God will fill you so that you can take the next steps”.
Associate Professor Sean Winter, who steps down as the Head of College at Pilgrim at the end of this month, said that “college communities are always in transition”.
“We are proud to see students complete their studies and it is a joy to celebrate their achievements in the Valedictory Service.
“Please pray for all who are now exploring next steps in vocation and ministry.”
At the conclusion of the service, Rev Duncan Macleod, Executive Officer of equipping Leadership for Mission, was able to announce that Associate Professor Kylie Crabbe has been appointed as Pilgrim’s new Head of College, commencing in January 2026.
The 2024 Valedictorians were: Paul Minty, Ramchhanthanga, Tanya Walker, Jae Eun Yun, Kate Clough, Martin Herring, Daniel Sihombing, Anne Brophy, Paul Dau, Susan Malthouse, Marian Bissett, Alisha Fung, Tanya Dunbar, David Landis-Morse, Junior Manase, Lima Zama, and Christopher Macha.
