Educational Grants & Scholarships
There are many grants and scholarships available for individuals (ordained and lay) and groups. There are also many types of grants available, including Theological tertiary education, youth ministry, lay education, continuing education, regionalisation and bursaries for Secondary and Tertiary education.
Please note that different funds have different eligibility criteria, guidelines and application processes.

UCA Under-35 Theological Scholarships
Pilgrim Theological College offers 10 scholarships to UCA young adults to study towards a Diploma in Theology or Graduate Diploma in Theology (full time, part-time or online). The scholarships subsidise 50 per cent of the total fees of the award through the University of Divinity. Applicants must be within and recommended by a UCA congregation of faith community.

Grants for Tertiary Education in Theology
These scholarships are for studies in the theological disciplines or recognised courses related to ministry.

Postgraduate Grants for Further Studies in Theology
Florence and Alexander Yule Memorial Scholarship
This is offered to support further post-graduate theological study at an overseas college or university. The scholarships are open to graduates of Pilgrim Theological College.

Robert James Brown Postgraduate Scholarships
These are for postgraduate study at the University of Divinity and are awarded annually. The scholarships are for two years and are open to Pilgrim Theological College graduates, candidates for UCA ministry or a UCA ordained person.

Arts Memorial Fund
The Kirk Robson Theology and the Arts Memorial Fund
This was established to animate the conversation between theology and the arts. It aims to support creative initiatives engaging communities and artists in collaborative projects seeking social justice. Indigenous participation and inclusion is encouraged, where possible. Theological reflection will form a key aspect of the project, articulating the learnings and experience of the community as they engage in the art project. Academic research projects are also invited. Expressions of interest and request for an application form should be addressed to [email protected].

Grants for Lay Education
Lay people, lay preacher candidates and pastors in placement can apply for funding support through the Centre for Theology & Ministry, as well as from other sources.

Thanksgiving Scholarship for Women Workers
Scholarships and bursaries for the tertiary education of women who serve or propose to serve the UCA in either a paid or unpaid capacity.
