Called to be a Church for all

Assembly liturgy regarding people with disabilities

A stand-alone liturgy has just been released by the UCA Assembly. This liturgy is designed to help Congregations and Faith Communities be more inclusive toward people with disabilities. It can be used any time of the year as is, or sections can be used in other liturgies.

The International Day of People with Disability falls on 3 December. Using this liturgy around that time could be a wonderful way to begin Advent and the journey to Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of the One who included all people.

The liturgy had been prepared by Andy Calder, Disability Inclusion Advocate, eLM, and Director: Uniting CPE – The John Paver Centre, VicTas Synod for the UCA Assembly.

The liturgy can be downloaded here.
