Kingswood College has formally honoured the remarkable contribution of former Principal Elisabeth Lenders OAM through the naming of its Early Learning Centre building as the Elisabeth Lenders OAM Imaginarium.
The naming was celebrated at a special event on June 10, attended by members of the Kingswood community and guests from across education spheres and the wider Uniting Church.
Elisabeth served as Principal of Kingswood College from 2011 to 2022, leading a period of significant development and helping shape the college’s strong culture of learning, creativity and community.
The establishment of the Imaginarium was among the important initiatives undertaken during her time as Principal.
Following her retirement from Kingswood, Elisabeth was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to education and received honorary membership of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia in recognition of her outstanding contribution to education and school leadership.
The naming of the Imaginarium provides a lasting reminder of Elisabeth’s deep commitment to young people and the enduring impact of her leadership on generations of students, staff and families.
