This year FTM C is being delivered in a combination of online and in person formats. You must participate in all 4 days to record satisfactory attendance:

  1. August 9th – 9.30-4.30pm – online
  2. August 16th – 9.30-4.30pm – online
  3. August 23rd – 9.30-5pm; 6.30-8.30pm, August 24th – 9.30-4.30pm – in person at the Centre for Theology and Ministry.

Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry: The Work of the Congregation (FTM-C) is the second part of FTM training; it builds upon the work begun in Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry: The Work of the Leader (FTM-L). You need to have completed FTM –L in order to enrol in FTM-C. Satisfactory completion of FTM – C qualifies the participant as an Intentional Interim Minister. Because the role of IIM is extremely demanding, you will need a formal recommendation from your presbytery, or appropriate synod staff or committee chairperson to enrol (Referee Form can be found below with the Application Form).

FTM – C is a four day program designed to provide information and experiences that will be helpful to people who plan to function in a congregational leadership role especially during a time of clerical transition or other major period of upheaval- like a global pandemic, or a radically new mission opportunity. In FTM C you will identify tools for use in congregations that will empower them to negotiate transition times with greater patience, wisdom and hope.

Satisfactory completion of FTM-C involves a supervised project. Given that the course content is useful for anyone in ministry, you may enrol and not participate in the assessment/fieldwork component. However, to be an accredited Intentional Interim Minister you need to complete the more formal application process, assessment and fieldwork.
