Creative worship for all ages

Sandy reflected that worship using several different ways of making meaning helps participation in worship accessible for people right across the age spectrum. Different learning styles include visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, logical, musical, and existential. She also reflected that the best ideas were often very simple, repeatable, and could be done with a minimum of preparation and set up.

Sandy provided examples and opportunities to experience several creative ways to engage in prayer, and with Bible engagement during worship or other intergenerational gatherings.

Participants had lots of fun with all sorts of activities including stone mandalas, face painting, visio divina, breath prayer and scrabble prayer.

At the end of the day, participants reflected that they had learned a lot, had a great time, and were taking plenty of ideas away that they could use in their own church communities to enhance faith formation and grow disciples.

The event was a collaboration between eLM and the Presbytery of Western Victoria and included several workshops on preaching, nursing home services, resource sharing and choosing worship music, led by local Ministers.

The Younger Generations team are ready and willing to come and lead training or collaborate with local leaders in running training in your Presbytery.

Please contact us and we can talk about how we can work together to help ministry agents and congregations in your area grow community and enliven faith formation and discipleship.
