Whether you’re snuggled up in Tasmania with the devils, dodging trams in Victoria, or sipping coffee in a hidden NSW Synod nook, if you’re an Appointed Leader, you’ll need a Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WVP). This isn’t a pop quiz, but let’s do a quick memory sprint, especially about syncing your card with the Synod.

Joan’s approach to life is like a one-hit wonder – she nails it the first time. Along with her Appointed Leader duties, she’s the queen of the kids’ soccer club, the school P&F, and every other colour in her kaleidoscope of city life – she adds all these to her application.
Elijah, already equipped with a WWCC/WVP, realises that with great power comes great responsibility – he needs to attach the Synod to his card. After a digital odyssey on the WWCC/WVP website, he updates this profile and adds:

Then, they play the waiting waltz with the postal service. When the card finally parachutes into her mailbox, Joan stashes it like a treasure, ready to flash it at her WWCC/WVP guru. To her glee, upon her arrival, she discovers they’ve already rolled out the red carpet for her and Elijah. “Easy peasy,” chirps the cheery WWCC/WVP guru, “We got a copy of letters as well and I’ve updated you both in the system.”
