Strong and committed leadership

This month we wanted to highlight the first pillar in our Child Safe Policy: strong and committed leadership.

This pillar covers concepts such as good governance, child safe culture, effective policies and procedures, and regular review and improvement.

When reviewing this pillar in your own congregation we encourage you to reflect on how others can see that the Church Council takes child safety seriously, what policies are in place and how we know whether they are working.

This pillar is an important one because we know that those in power need to have child safety as a priority.

It also ensures that policies are up to date, relevant and useful in your context.
