As of May 28, the Victorian Government requires all venues used for public gatherings, including churches, to use a Services Vic QR code to record details of everyone who attends. No other form of QR code recoding is acceptable. Density quotients will no longer apply to venues smaller than 400 square meters as of May 28, with up to 200 people able to attend. However venues must have COVID marshals to ensure all attendees check in via their QR code.
As of May 1, the Tasmanian Government requires all venues used for public gatherings to use the Check in TAS app (QR Code) to record details of everyone who attends.
Download the current FAQs (below) for full details, including links to obtain the relevant free QR code.
Since April 2020, Synod’s Coronavirus Crisis Team have gathered your frequently asked questions and provided easy answers to all current COVID restrictions and requirements which relate to the life of the Church. This information has been provided in our COVID FAQs, which have been updated every week.
As both Tasmania and Victoria have now entered “COVID-Normal”, as of December 10 the FAQs are no longer updated each week and will now only be updated as required.
Should you have any queries please contact CrisisManagement@victas.uca.org.au or your presbytery.
At the bottom of this page you will find links to the current Victorian FAQs and the Tasmanian FAQs. Both are PDFs which can readily be printed out.
It is a requirement that signage be displayed showing the maximum number of people permitted to enter your facility. Our new templates (below) will ensure you remain COVID-compliant.
However, before opening your doors to worship services and other activities, it is vital to consider not only all of the necessary physical requirements but, more importantly, the ministry and mission implications. There are a number of additional factors which every church council should also consider.
We have designed a Recovery Action Plan checklist to assist you in deciding if you are able to be COVID-19 compliant. It should be completed by the church council before making any plans to reopen your doors.
